We have seen for the past few years that these manufactures seem to be sticking to their preferred technology. Each one enhances its TV line up each year, but how did they stack up against each other in the 2016 lineup.

First we have the Samsung S series. When asked what the S stands for I informed that it doesn’t stand for anything. Its just S, ya know like S as in a letter of the English alphabet.

Into the meat of it we go. It looks good, its a great television at an acceptable price. The Quantum dot technology adds some great color depth and accuracy. I think the capabilities and the price point of the “S” quantum dot televisions is necessary to the market.

Many companies make a Quantum style Television but have a manufacture specific term that they use.  These are wonderful screens and look amazing. With that said they do have a lighting system, all of them have some method of lighting the screen.

In all its glory and grandeur. The amazing super . . . . well pretty good television by LG, we have the OLED.

This is a very nice display. It looks good and you don’t need my pointless article to tell you that. If you have seen anything on OLED television sets you know that the picture quality is unrivaled. It does look better than any other screen then I have see. The price is getting better, albeit ever so slightly.

These do have a burn in potential, but my research has shown that this is a temporary burn in and not a permanent. As long as you don’t leave an image on for 24+ hours you will only leave a very small partially un-noticeable burn in for a short time.

With both screens given I still own a Samsung Television. I have not felt the cost per smile was worth the extra price tag that the OLEDs demand. I am however trying to hold out buying another computer monitor until an OLED version becomes available. I know you all saw the 30 inch Dell monitor at CES as well as I did but you also saw the $5000 sticker that was on it as well. I’m looking at $2000 and below for my monitor and consider anything above $4842 only for the cutting edge professional. As you can easily tell I’m only a techie professional and not a cutting edge professional.

Before buying a television online on a super sale thing I recommend going to a big box store and taking a look at them so that you can see the difference to know what you are getting into.
