The LG OLED 34GS95QE-B delivers a transformative gaming experience thanks to its OLED panel, HDR support, and precision calibration tools—especially noticeable when compared to backlit alternatives like the Samsung Neo G9.
The LG 34GS95QE-B is a 34-inch ultrawide curved gaming monitor built around LG’s W-OLED panel with a steep 800R curvature and a 3440×1440 resolution. What sets OLED apart is its lack of a traditional backlight. Instead, each pixel emits its own light, allowing for true blacks, infinite contrast, and no blooming around bright objects. This creates an immediate and striking visual difference, especially in dark scenes where backlit panels often struggle with haloing and grayish blacks.
For gamers, this means environments feel more immersive and atmospheric. Shadows are deeper, highlights pop more vividly, and the overall image has a cinematic quality that’s hard to replicate with LED or QLED displays.
HDR That Works:
Coming from the Samsung Neo G9, which doesn’t support HDR in picture-in-picture mode, the LG 34GS95QE-B is a notable change . With HDR10 support and peak brightness up to 1300 nits for small highlights, this monitor delivers vibrant colors and dazzling contrast. I understand that the Neo G9 also supports it, but it feels like it was clearly designed to be setup in PiP with 2 connections to it. The fact it can’t support it in the most advertised feature is a let down and something I haven’t been able to experience. With the LG taking advantage of HDR coupled with the OLED panel, it is a clear upgrade in the form of quality.
Calibration Software:
LG bundles the 34GS95QE-B with LG Calibration Studio, a robust software suite that allows users to:
- Adjust color temperature and gamma curves
- Calibrate grayscale and color accuracy
- Save and switch between profiles for different use cases (gaming, editing, SDR vs HDR)
This is especially useful for users who want to dial in their settings for competitive gaming or color-sensitive tasks like photo editing. Combined with the monitor’s 98.5% DCI-P3 coverage and true 10-bit color depth, it ensures that what you see is both stunning and accurate.

Performance Highlights:
This monitor is made for the high-end experience. The specs, the price, and even down to the premium look and feel of the back of the monitor tells you it is quality:
- 240Hz refresh rate with VRR support (FreeSync Premium Pro and G-SYNC)
- 0.03ms response time for near-instantaneous pixel transitions
- Low input lag, making it ideal for fast-paced competitive gaming
- DTS Headphones:X support for immersive 3D audio
Office Work & Media:
While gaming sees a massive upgrade, office tasks and most media consumption remain largely unchanged. Text clarity can be slightly affected due to the RWBG subpixel layout, which may cause fringing on fine text. However, this is only noticeable during intense reading or spreadsheet work and doesn’t impact video playback or casual browsing.
Final Thoughts
If gaming is your priority, the LG OLED 34GS95QE-B is a serious monitor. Precision calibration tools make it a dream display for immersive play. While it won’t revolutionize your office workflow or Netflix sessions, it will absolutely redefine how you experience your favorite games.
With that said, I am in a bit of a pickle. I now am using both the LG 34″ and the Samsung 57″. Work\life balance requires a larger monitor, or two monitors. The fact that the Samsung is everything I needed while still looking great gave me everything I thought I wanted. It is strictly the high end graphic games that really benefit from the LG, but boy do they benefit. As of this writing I’m trying to find a way to warrant keeping 91″ of monitor at my desk and rationalizing it.

Hey, I just stumbled onto your site… are you always this good at catching attention, or did you make it just for me?
