Recently I was gifted a Ninja Air Max XL, and despite being skeptical at first as I admittedly am late to the air fryer scene I’ve been surprised by how quickly it became one of my favorite appliances to use to cook certain meals.

Ease of Use
The first thing I appreciated was how simple it is to operate. The controls are pretty easy to understand right out of the box, so there’s no need to fumble with a manual every time I want to use it. Preheating is pretty quick and the large basket size (5.5-qt) means I can cook quite a bit without over crowding the food.

Performance
This is where the Air Max XL really shines. Fries come out and tater tots come out the crispiest I’ve ever had, Chicken legs and Chicken quarters always have the crispiest skin and delicious texture and grilled cheese comes out perfect every time once you’ve got your times down. I highly recommend looking up some recipes for each things  you want to cook online to get an idea for how long to cook certain items though the quick start guide has a nice little guide on this as well.

Cleaning & Maintenance
Cleaning this thing is one of the biggest reasons I actually keep using this appliance. The basket and tray are nonstick and dishwasher safe, and it’s pretty to fast to wash by hand and for someone who doesn’t want to spend half the night scrubbing, that’s a major plus.

Everyday Value
What’s surprised me most is how practical it feels for everyday use. It cooks faster than my oven, doesn’t make my room unbearable to be in while it’s in use and fits right into my normal cooking routine. Instead of being an item collecting dust on my shelf, it’s become a reliable tool I actually rely on.

Verdict
If you’re on the fence about air fryers like I was, the Ninja Air Max XL is the model that might change your mind. It combines ease of use with strong performance can save you a lot of time when you need to make a meal quickly. I would recommend this model to anyone curious about a higher end air fryer.
