I’m sure you have heard of Hyundai, we all have. Their cars have been around since 1967 and getting more and more into the light for reliability and design. Today we aren’t going to be talking about cars though. It’s what’s inside those cars that we are going to be talking about, Electronics. Cars are becoming more and more electronically filled. Large tablets are integrated into the dashboard, computers diagnose traction and road conditions thousands of times per second. The reason we bring this up is Hyundai’s new branch.

Since technology is already a staple of what they create, it makes sense to offer those innovations and solutions outside of the car. Enter – Hyundai Technology.

Product listing from Hyundai

Hyundai Technology is already a major player in some regions globally with $200 million in global sales. The goal is to move into the North American and Asian markets.

So what are these really going to do for society?  These are not going to be new flagship products and not change the high-end market. Everything on their lineup looks like it is already out there and they’re not breaking any new ground. So why would we be talking about it then?

More cost-effective hardware on the market means that overall pricing is can stay stable with fewer anomalies when demand pushes prices up to 3 times the MSRP. The expected life of the products is high due to the tenure of Hyundai’s history. The warranty on the hardware is standard in the industry. That means won’t have to worry about picking up some cheap knockoff hardware that isn’t going to last the weekend.

We haven’t gotten our hands on the hardware for too long, but the initial impression is good. We will report back when we have a better opportunity to use these more long-term.
