I wanted to get in to 3D printing. So I started to look in to printers. I had seen some prints from filament printers and was not impressed.
The detail was spotty. It takes a lot of time to clean up and make it look good. To me they look like wires wound up to try and make an image.
I wanted something better. I started to look in to resin printing. I found that the detail was much better with a lot less clean up of the model.
I started looking to find a good resin printer at an affordable price. I found the Halot One Pro and picked it up for around $200US.
I also picked up the Creality UW-02 Washing and Curing Machine. When it was delivered and I set it up the first thing you need to do is level the plate.
My first attempt failed to put enough pressure on the screen. I was worried about damaging it. This lead to my first print to fail.
The second time it worked grate.
If you are not carful resin can make a mess. but this can be easily avoided with spill mats. The resin will not stick to rubber or silicon.
If you spill on the mat just put it out side and let the sun cure the resin come back and it will pill off.
The clean up of the models is simple you wash the excess resin off with alcohol or a resin detergent. Then you snap the supports off.
These supports come off Prity easily. Then you cure with uv-light the sun works good for this or the curing machine works great.
The software that this machine comes with works great. It is very user friendly and self-explanatory.
It did not take long to finger out and the models look amazing. The scale of this machine is only 130*122*160mm.
But with the right files you can make thigs that are much bigger.
The print time is long. If the are doing something that is at the max size. It can take up to 12-13 hours but the quality is worth the time.
All and all I am very happy with this unit. I will make one more comment when you are removing the model from the print plate. Put the cover on or move away
from the unit. I damaged the film with a piece of hardened resin that fell in to the vat and i did not see it.
Creality sems to make good machines.
